Capucine Demnard
After studying the oboe at the music conservatories of Avignon, Hereford (UK), and the Scola Cantorum in Paris, I began a career as a journalist and became involved with the UNHCR in Mauritania and Mali. I taught music listening, improvised music, and English in refugee camps. I continued my international engagement at the photo department of the France-Presse Agency, before founding the artistic agency Fuga Musique, dedicated to the production of classical music, opera concerts, dance, and world music (India, Turkey, etc.). I have worked with opera houses, orchestras, and festivals in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
During a concert at a care center for people with Alzheimer's disease, I discovered the beneficial impact of music on this condition, and decided to train and dedicate myself to sound research.
Graduated from the University of Medicine of Nîmes-Montpellier in music therapy, I specialize in working with young adults with traumatic brain injuries (DU TCC), palliative care (DU end-of-life care), and Alzheimer's disease.
I work in the university hospitals of Montpellier and Nîmes in pediatric neurology and acute low back pain, and in the university hospitals of Bordeaux and Jonzac in psychiatry… I then decide to enrich my practice with additional training for a holistic approach to patient care, using a varied instrumentarium (keyboard, flutes, percussion, Tibetan bowls, quartz bowls, gong, handpan...) as well as singing, breathing, yoga, and meditation.
My practice is aimed at children, adults, the elderly, as well as the corporate world.

A member of several associations, conferences, and institutes, I contribute to research on the history and development of music therapy with the LabMin at the Nantes Institute.
With Lacmé Production and the Gulli channel, I write and record podcasts to promote listening and help children fall asleep.
I am the co-founder of the TEDxMediterranean conference on the applications of music (2010).
I also create multidisciplinary performances related to music and carry out charitable actions to bring together and advocate for humanitarian causes through music.
